Engineering Academy
The Engineering Academy at Spain Park High School was conceived in the spring of 2007, due to the success of The Engineering Academy at Hoover High School, a Hoover City School as well. The academy was introduced as a means to begin addressing the declining pool of engineers, beginning at the high school level. The four-year curriculum includes specified math, science, and engineering coursework at each grade level. It seems logical that early exposure and strong preparation should ultimately increase the number of students who pursue careers in engineering. The inaugural entering class, consisting of a group of freshmen and sophomores, began their course work in the fall of 2007. The first group of three-year graduates finished in 2010, and the first four-year graduates were the Class of 2011.

Health Science Academy
The Health Science Academy at Spain Park High School was established in 2011 to expose students to various healthcare professions. Through a comprehensive, four-year program, students will work toward becoming college and career ready. The curriculum is aligned with state standards and is organized into the Therapeutic Services track. We offer the following courses; Career Preparedness, Human Body Structures and Functions, Therapeutic Services, Emergency Services, Sports Medicine, and Internship. Seniors can choose to get a certification in Patient Care Technician or basic-EMT. All Health Science students have the opportunity to further their knowledge and practice skills by participating in HOSA's state and national leadership conferences.

Law Academy
Established 2006
The primary goal of Law Academy is the creation of a “school within a school” atmosphere fostering academic excellence, real world experience and connection building with local businesses and institutions. The Law Academy achieves this through a 4-year elective program which culminates in the practical application of knowledge in mock trial and moot court competitions. The Law Academy offers a unique academic opportunity for Spain Park students by combining career-focused learning and experience with college-level opportunities.
